This is the first article of this new column at TNT-Audio. Trying to offer to our worldwide audience the same services we offer to our Italian readers, we've decided to create a monthly column for general ramblings and thoughts about this crazy world of HiFi Audio.
This column has a long tradition (> 3 years) on the Italian edition of TNT-Audio, we thought it was time to open it to our worldwide audience.
This time, let me spend a few words about a slight "restyling" of the magazine. Besides this new column the Tests & reviews section has been completely redesigned. Now the reviews are divided into 5 different sections and grouped into alphabethical order, so to improve the user-friendliness of the mag.
Actually, this is a very relevant aspect for us: our magazine may appear poor looking and no attractive but this is EXACTLY what we want.
Fancy graphics, flashing ads ;-), frames and cumbersome Javascripts may look cool but are definitely HEAVY to download and since our mag is FREE we don't want you to spend hours on the Internet trying to download our pages.
Everything has to be light, easy and efficient. And if this means "poor looking", OK, it's fine for us.
I don't know about you but I'm SOOOO damn tired of flashing ads, pop-up windows, nested frames, rotating banners and the like, that I STOP browsing a site if I can't SEE where the content really is (if there is any ;-) ).
The time wasted searching for information is better spent listening to Music, IMHO.
So, right from our first page, if you want to read our reviews, just click on the Tests & reviews link and then you'll suddenly find, grouped into separate sections, amps, CD players, discs, books, cables, accessories and loudspeakers.
Are you searching for Interviews? They are just one click away. The same applies to Tweaks, DIY projects, Factory tours, HiFi Shows reportages etc. You can even move from one section to another just simply clicking on the navigation bar at the top and the bottom of each page.
Also, while everyone else is jumping into the Audio/Video multimedia bandwagon, we will deal with HiFi and nothing else. Call us new-traditionalists, retro-grouches or "outdated" but we believe that, in a World where everyone speaks and writes about just anything, a strictly audiophile voice was needed. But this is matter for another column.
We sincerely hope to share our pure Passion for good Music and HiFi reproduction with you, for the years to come. So far, our crazy idea of a no-ads mag is succeeding.
