Favorite 2nd hand and new LP sites
Dear Lucio,
just read your editorial about the vinyl's continuing popularity and am sending you some of my favorite internet LP stores (affordable and detailed):

I find the first two stores the best. Thanks Lucio and I send you a music link: Celebrating the Yardbirds hit: Train Kept a Rollin'. Metallica invited Jeff Beck, Ron Wood and Jimmy Page, with others to a music awards show: http://www.youtube.com/
Sincerely yours,

Dear Bow,

Vinyl is here to stay :-)

The Brodule
Dear Lucio,
Thank you very much for publishing my summary on the Brodule in the TNT Reader's Corner; in order to make exchanges with readers more interactive, I have created a blog, at the following address: http://brodule.blogspot.com.
Thanking you in advance,
Kind regards,
Stephane - E-mail: nhat (at) 9online.fr

Dear Stephane,
I wish you good luck with your new blog. Eventually plan to join and support our Real Stereo campaign by placing a Real Stereo logo and link somewhere on your pages. Moreover, feel free to join our TNT-Audio Addicts web forum and mailing list for discussion with other audiophiles and tweakers.
Happy listening!

Stereo
Dear Mark,
I would like to make two comments about the review of the Dynavector cartridge. They are not about the review itself, which after all is a good read, as always. My comments are about two words used, both in the same line.

  1. STEREO in Greek doesn't mean SOLID,exactly. It means STABLE. The spelling of it is "ste-reo",the emphasis on "ste". It is used for expressing stability, as state of being, not 'solid', "stere-o", the emphasis on "o", as opposed to liquid or ethereal.
  2. Was Blumlein aiming at stable PERFORMERS or stable PERFORMANCE, as a whole event ?
Best regards

Hi 'V'
Thank you very much for the kind words about our reviews. Thank you too, for taking the time to put me right about something I have been erroneously stating for years. While there is a moment's embarrassment about realising I have been making an error, it is much better to know correctly. I wonder why no other Greek readers have corrected me before? I was actually misinformed of the translation of 'Stereo' by an Englishman who had, what we in Britain call 'a classical education' (Latin, Ancient Greek and History) but whose knowledge of modern greek was clearly flawed!

Alan Dower Blumlein (1903-1942) is credited with the invention of 'stereo' but was killed during WW2 while developing radar. We can mourn all the things he never had the opportunity to invent, but I doubt he would have invented CD, nor MP3, as high quality was always his goal. I do not know if he ever used the word 'stereo', and I am aware he experimented with crossed microphone pair recording, spaced microphone pair recording and spaced triple array microphone recording, principally for use with headphones.

I am sure that while recording engineers would love performers to remain stable, some of the greatest performances have come from performers whose reputations were far from stable!

Thanks for your feedback, and happy listening (mono, stereo or live),
Mark Wheeler
