The Italian HiFi scene is pretty hot: the big Top Audio Show becomes Top Audio & Video, the Rome Audio Show won't take place this year (not 100% sure, but...) and the other events (Bari and Spoleto) are trying to earn a good reputation among the Italian audiophiles.
So it shouldn't come as a surprise that a group of small new HiFi Companies has decided to organize a new event, called Milano Hi End 2000, devoted entirely and exclusively to HiFi, with no room left to Home Theater (thanks!).
The Companies are: The Sound of the Valve (by Stefano Zaini) from Pavia, who builds Lowther-equipped loudspeakers and tube amps, Studio Progettazione Audio (Antiqua & Audio Gate, tube electronics), EMGI (loudspeakers), Max Research by Massimo Piantini (wide-band speakers, see the Top Audio reportage for details), Dissanayake (from Rome: tube amps), Nadir (mains conditioners and amps), Chorus Electronic (Audiovision) and the incredible Moss turntables by Ing. Russo. And the list is obviously incomplete and still open.
Everything will happen in Milan - 4th & 5th of March at the famous Centro Congressi Milanofiori - Jolly Hotel Milanofiori - Assago (Mi), Strada 1 - Milanofiori, tangenziale Ovest, uscita Milanofiori.
The Show will remain open from 9.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m..
The organizers have paid attention to the quality of the sound into the rooms, using acoustic corrections so to get the best results out of any HiFi system. Also, thanks to the fact no Home Theater rooms will be allowed, your listening tests won't be disturbed by dinosaurs walking near you or H-bomb explosions under your seat.
The leading Italian HiFi magazines will attend too and also TNT-Audio will hopefully be there, so to tell you what's going on in Italy.
