Re: Arcam miniBlink
Hi TNT,
I have just connected my new Arcam RBlink to my Arcam A65 (speakers are Totem Sttaf) and paired it with my Ipad. Now I'm Iistening to Spotify and I can' t believe it! Treble is well defined, bass is powerful and dynamics are very good, even if I have the same impression you had with the miniBlink: maybe the sound is a little too forward. Obviously my Arcam CD73 and my Clearaudio Emotion turntable sound better (low end is deeper and treble are more refined), but just one of the interconnect cables connected to them costs more than RBlink!
It's simple to use and the signal remains very stable also with my son's IMac, which is in an another room. I' m sure: at this price (139 euros new on Amazon) is a real great bargain!

Website popularity
Hello Lucio,
I was very interested by the list of visitors, how many there are! WOW! One might say tnt-audio was deservedly blowing its own (albeit well recorded with high dynamic range) trumpet. Or would that be back-loaded horn? What was very useful for me was to see which sites might be worth a visit sometime, on grounds of the number of visitors coming to TNT. Thanks for all the good work - I've got 2 FleXy-based racks at home here in Berlin.
Many thanks,
Robert - E-mail: webmaster (at) hatton.de

Dear Robert,
glad you found our stats useful! Numbers never lie...many websites claim to be popular but then fail to bring visitors to our site, this means they're not so popular :-)
I'll publish other reports, coming from another HiFi website, that show that, after Google, TNT-Audio is #1 referrer for that website. This is real popularity, in my opinion!
Stay tuned!

Better CD transport
Dear Lucio,
I wrote to you for your advice on the DIY HiFi rack late last year. Finally got it together with M16 rod and heavy duty way OTT castors, still does the job. Your assistance was much appreciated. If I can have a moment - at this point in time I have a HBB CDR800 stable platter Pioneer as the transport into a Audionote Dac 1 and a Soro SE-J speakers.
Also have an old Philips CD950, but prefer the HBD as it replaces the missing bass. I may be being picky but looking to go for a dedicated Transport and have a few to consider

There is also a full upgrade, be it on Ebay for the Dac 1 to a Dac 5? Any thoughts, only if you get a spare minute would be a great relief!
Kind Regards,
Anthony - E-mail: abarkwith (at) hotmail.com

Dear Anthony,
Teac VRDS transports are overrated, in my opinion. And they're hard to find in good conditions, because of age. In my opinion you'd better stay with your transport and upgrade the DAC instead. Those AN upgrade boards on Ebay seem the way to go. Also feel free to experiment with different digital cables. Believe it or not, they can make a difference.
Hope this helped somehow.

Yarland FV 34C
Dear Mr Whetstone,
I've read your Yarland FV 34c review and I'm longing to try tube amps. Do you think this amp will fit with my little Tannoy F1 speakers?
Thanks in advance,
Greetings,
Lorenzo - E-mail: lorenzo.giannettiuno (at) gmail.com

NW
Hi Lorenzo,
It is impossible to say how an amp will sound (or work) with specific speakers without hearing that combination. From the specifications of the F1s, an amplifier with an output rating of 10-70 watts is required, but the FV-34 only has 12 watts, so I could not guarantee that it would be a good match for your speakers.
If you can't try it first, it would be a risk buying an FV-34 in your case.
Regards,
Nick Whetstone
